Kokomo is open early til late serving modernised coastal cuisine. Our plates are fresh and thought provoking. We are inspired by both our local suppliers and their sustainable fresh products as well as global coast lines, from New Zealand and the Pacific to Asia and beyond. Kokomo showcases coastal cuisine by marrying fresh, simple ingredients and modern cooking techniques with elements of fusion.
WHAT IS MODERN COASTAL CUISINE?
When we are talking about coastal cuisine aren’t just talking about fish or seafood, we include everything around it too, from coastal lamb to samphire, there’s so much more to it. Typically coastal cuisine is prepared using simple, tried and tested cooking techniques whilst focussing on high quality, fresh ingredients including seafood and seasonal produce, at Kokomo we are combining the fresh + simple preparation techniques with elements of fusion from coastal areas all over the globe highlighting New Zealand, Australia, Asia, and South America.
Great food should be shared. Our menus have been designed to share with friends, family + loved ones- perfect for Pina Colada-fuelled catchups or romantic dinners.
Our menu has been designed to entice and excite, we encourage you to share your excitement with friends and family. Our food is all delivered to your table as it is ready, so please remember when you order you are ordering for the table.
We are always happy to accomodate requests where ever possible, but please remember we use seafood, gluten and soy heavily in our kitchen, so we can never guarantee traces may not be present.
We have a mixture of bar height and low tables, stools, chairs and booths, when you book with us you are booking a seat, we have a limited number of seats in each area, so we can’t always guarantee which area it will be in- it you have a preference please let us know when you book and we will do our very best to accomodate.
HOW LONG SHOULD WE EXPECT TO DINE HERE?
Tables of 2-4 guests are generally reserved for 1.5 hours, and 6+ for 2 hours, should this vary on any given service, this will be noted in your booking confirmation email, or by our team when we call to confirm your booking.
WHAT IS THE KITCHEN PASS?
This means you are dining as close to the kitchen as possible, you can watch everything happening, and directly engage with the kitchen. You will be seated on bar height chairs are directly in front of where we cook and create your dishes. Please note for this area guests are seated alongside one another. This is especially important for groups of 4+ guests to note in terms of holding conversation. If you are coming as a social group to have a long overdue catch-up, we suggest you don’t request this table and dine at our other tables allowing conversation between you.
DO WE HAVE TO BOOK?
If there is a specific area you wish to dine in or a time you wish to dine at we highly recommend it. We can book out on any given service. Walk-ins are always welcome to pop in and see if we have a table or a seat at the bar available for a meal, snack or just a drink.
CAN WE BYO WINE?
No, we have a seasonally changing beverages list with monthly features to compliment our food. We do not offer corkage.
CAN WE BRING A CAKE?
If you would like to bring a cake in there is a $5pp cakeage fee added to your bill. We prefer to make a cake for you, please contact us for current flavours and prices.
CAN WE BRING OUR CHILD/CHILDREN?
We have one menu. If you know your child/children will enjoy our experience as we offer it and eat from this menu, then by all means they are welcome to accompany you. Please remember to include any children requiring a chair in your booking numbers.
DO YOU ACCOMODATE GROUPS OR EVENTS?
For groups of 10 and over we offer a set menu, this is priced per person at $75pp. The menu is served “Trust The Chef” style where our kitchen team showcase our favourite dishes to you in a shared style. We can accomodate groups of up to 70 guests for dinner in the restaurant across various size tables ( from 2 to 8 at each table). Please email us to find out more.
